Ingredients:
  • 2 lbs fresh tomatoes, chopped (or 1 can of crushed tomatoes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions
  1. Heat oil in a pan: Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic: Add chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Add tomatoes: Add chopped fresh tomatoes (or canned crushed tomatoes) and stir well.
  4. Add herbs and spices: Add dried basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well.
  5. Simmer the sauce: Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the flavors meld together.
  6. Blend the sauce: Use an immersion blender or a regular blender to puree the sauce to your desired consistency.
  7. Taste and adjust: Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
